History of the National Council of Research
This second volume of the series investigates the difficult period from the post war years to the reconstruction in the 1970s, also analysing more recent studies. In this period the CNR was of paramount importance in Italian research: helping the development of crucial sectors such as genetic research, nuclear physics, and space. Later on, new institutions were opened. But in the meantime the CNR had widened its field of research to include human sciences.
